Excelsior Online Learning Centre focuses on assisting learners following an online school’s curriculum to complete all required assessments per term to meet the criteria for promotion at the end of each school year. Two qualified high school teachers act as full-time facilitators to assist learners.

What is the connection between Excelsior and online schooling?
Excelsior was founded in 2007 for learners struggling to function in large classes. However, we have decided to move with the electronic advancement /development and joined online schooling from January 2023. Learners who are registered with an online school can enroll at Excelsior online learning centre and follow the online curriculum under supervision.
All prescribed tasks, tests and examinations at online schools must be handed in /written on fixed dates. Excelsior online centre will ensure that these dates are met. Term reports are only issued by online schools when all assessment tasks for the relevant term have been completed.
Wi-fi required for online classes will be provided by Excelsior. Supervision will be done by the Excelsior staff to ensure that the learners complete all prescribed lessons.
Matriculants write the National Senior Certificate through an examination body accredited with Umalusi. Excelsior is registered with the Department of Basic Education (EMIS no.: 400501).

Head of Examinations
Qualified teachers supervise the learners while they are busy with online classes, tests and examinations.
A trained Head of Examinations oversees all examination matters and the smooth running of each examination. He ensures that the requirements of Umalusi are met. Our head of examinations has nine years of experience in examination matters
